Become the singularity

And also, the Senate's other worry, the appearance of singularity well, it was a singularity back then.

The question is, is there a positive social singularity?

Ray Kurzweil and I started a new university called Singularity University.

Because I had them through 2002 in my book, The Singularity is Near.

And a singularity is just something that the math doesn't even apply to it.

Based on that we are announcing, here at TED, in true TED tradition, Singularity University.

My refusing to eat meat occasioned an inconvenience, and I was frequently chided for my singularity.

And that's where my imagined future comes in, which I am going to call the social singularity.

I won't go into all of that. But then it starts to expand a little bit from the singularity.

I've been the track share for the medicine portion of a new institution called Singularity University based in Silicon Valley.

So in a model like this, recollapse back to the initial singularity or reverse of the big bang is inevitable.

And then what we see in the singularity, that prophesized by Kurzweil and others his idea that technology is accelerating evolution.

So the Big Bang starts with all of the mass in space in the universe, an infinitely, an infinitely dense singularity.

Vernor Vinge's notion of a technological singularity, where a number of trends accelerate and converge and come together to create, really, a shockingly new reality.

All this Mr. Huxter saw over the canisters of the tobacco window, and the singularity of the man's behaviour prompted him to maintain his observation.

But immediately after the Big Bang, so this occurred 13.7 billion years ago, 13.7 billion years ago, immediately after it, this little tiny infinitely small singularity begins to expand.

It may be that the social singularity ahead is the one that we fear the most a convergence of catastrophes, of environmental degradation, of weapons of mass destruction, of pandemics, of poverty.

And that, in the intercourse with foreign nations, the majesty of the people of the United States may not be hazarded by an appearance of singularity i.e., we don't want to look like bloody weirdos.

when space really started to expand from a singularity but our best estimate of when this occurred is 13.7 billion years ago, and even though we're used to dealing with numbers in the billions, especially when we talk about

And really it's just this idea that the Universe that this Universe started as kind of an infintely small point, this infinitely small singularity, and then it just had a Big Bang, or it just expanded from that state to the Universe we know right now.
